PRAYER FOR NIGERIA from Reinhard Bonnke

Heavenly Father,

Your Word declares: When the enemy shall come in, like a flood the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. (Isaiah 59,19) Let your peace “that passes understanding” be our portion.

• I pray that righteousness may rule Nigeria, because your word says that “righteousness exalts a nation”.
• I pray for peace in Nigeria during the upcoming elections and for God’s will to be done. Bless her peace-makers and rebuke the peace-breakers.
• Flood Nigeria with “the Spirit of the LORD”, providing protection from atrocious Boko Haram and associates.
• Comfort the bereaved families and bring back all kidnapped sons and daughters.
• May Nigeria find rest “under the shadow of the Almighty”.
• Bless Nigeria’s economy, down to the working family, and stabilize the oil-market.
• And bless Nigeria’s government with wise intent and good results for all her citizens.
• And above all, lift up a standard against the enemies of the Gospel, so that full salvation may flow in all directions.
• Bless Your children and Your church.
In JESUS’ Name I pray.
AMEN.

(Please pray this prayer with me and share with your friends. Let us agree before the Throne of God. I would be glad to hear from you. Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke)

DEAR YOUTHS

The increasing situation of cases plaguing our country may have continually dimmed the ray of hope that has begun to grow in our hearts. Children like  us were kidnapped from school and we have not been able to find them in more than a week, the bomb blasts at Nyanya and other areas at the north east, institutionalized corruption in high places ( #cabals) etc. Are part of the growing matters arising. I will not blame you, if you do not even have hope again.
But your knowledge of the above comes with a responsibility that goes beyond talk. We all know that there are problems plaguing our nation; denial will  be just self deception.  However, I am hopeful for the greatness that lies in you. Yes you! ...The youths of this nation! Sadly, many of us no longer even believe that we are the leaders of tomorrow; because of the harsh realities that we have come to experience. Nevertheless, Can we decide to form a reality based on values to transform the current nature of the country? Yes we can.
The corruption that has obviously become a culture of the majority, based on our own democratic system started small and spread like a wild fire; so also can we start a revolution of character and virtue to transform this nation into a spectacular place to be in. I beg us not to learn the wrong from our fathers and choose not to follow their steps. If we continue to cry that our fathers have failed us, we should not allow our children cry same...you can start the change by becoming the change.
In addition, I write this with severe pity and concern for the female children who could have been my sisters that have been kidnapped and pray that God grant them succour in the face of the present challenges. The present situation moves me to concern and not just mere complain. The fathers claim that we have not been responsible enough ...let us rise up and build a Nigeria that we will be proud we are part of.
Get your hands stained in the mixing of the mortar that makes the new Nigeria, let your voices be heard on the streets as you mobilize like minds. Encourage those that have lost hope by your  patriotic acts and speech...things are getting worst...and might deteriorate further if we fold our hands, but let us join our hands together to make things work.
Moreover, some of us complain about the fact that the system inhibits our growth to getting a platform of reasonable influence but some have risen through the same sphere to create an influencing atmosphere. Explore the adaptive gene that is embedded in the DNA of every Nigerian and carve a niche of excellence for yourselves.

In conclusion, I ask that you be the  Nigeria you want to see, strive to excellent in anything you do and continually make your input in  the struggle to make Nigeria a better place. We must breathe fresh air, we must have shoes, we must go to schools....yes we can, if we do not loose up and stop efforts. With support for each other, for this order (Nigerian Greatness)... together we can make Nigeria brighter.

                                                                                                            Yours Sincerly,
                                                                                                             Phlegvinyl

SHORT NOTE...

My heart bleeds with concern and my mind rages with thoughts on how to make things better. What can we do? what do we do? we cannot continue like this. Yesterday, it was Kano, today its Jos and we pray it doesn't happen anywhere again. Things are happening! We are still waiting for our girls to be brought back, bomb blasts , killings by fulani herdsmen, oil bunkering , corruption , bad leadership etc the list continues.
However, my reaction to this issues have always been " What can I do to make things better" and I believe that it should be the reaction of all. Some have given up, some don't care anymore and others just want to leave the country and run away. The matter on ground is an issue, but also very important is how we react to these issues. Do we take them as normal or something to be changed? Nigerians should begin to take responsibility for the happenings in our country. We should begin to make significant impact to making this country a better place.
Moreover, Ir is sad to note that our government has failed us. But I choose to look at it from the perspective that, some of us are at fault. Some of us sold our soul to the devil by exchanging our votes for money. The excuse of the poverty rate of the nation always come around when the issue of electoral rigging and malpractice is discussed, but when you sell your vote " You mortgage your future for a temporary relief". Although some have so suffered that they think that they do not have an option, but I want to encourage that your life begins with what you believe you are and that you should not sacrifice values at the altar of comfort.
We will be in 2015 soon, we should take responsibility for our lives and not take up arms from those that will not give the guns to their own children. We should act, vote responsibly and act like someone that is a partner to Nigeria's progress. let love for nation and patriotism drive you; soon the essence you bring to life will add essence to your life.

The government needs your partnership to be corrupt. If you refuse to bribe or be bribed, how will it happen effectively. This is dangerous, but for this nation to become a pride sacrifices will have to be made. Corruption at the government level, begins at the grassroot level

HOPE NIGERIA!

My nation Nigeria has been torn between the ethnic, religious and interest lines. Everybody wants the piece of the national cake, without wanting to contribute to making it bigger, sweeter and better. Sadly, the giant crawls when she has the potential of a supersonic train... how did we get here? what pains me more is the fact that a lot of people have given up; have lost hope ( e reach to sha!)

However,we cry of the nature of the country, but what would be its fate if we all lose hope? how shall we stand again if we refuse to put our hands together to build the nation we want to see? if you tell me corruption has been institutionalized, while don't we begin to represent an alternative society with the right set of believes.
when I sit back to watch the scenes of the various bombings and the response of the centre, the fact that girls that could have been my sister have been away from home for weeks, the politicizing of issues of national interest instead of working together to make things better, the worst of excuses being given for happenings and the nature of the church intended to restore balance! is their still hope? the relevance of our black gold dwindles as an alternative shale quality continues to gain grounds, we do not have light but lighten the skies with gas flares... what is the future for the children with a present like this and the past that we hear about( when my lecturers talk about the school they went to , you wonder maybe its the same you school you know about or you are going to ). Are we going back or forward? what is my fate? is the question in this situation?
But this is my fate, one that I have chosen to follow as a path irrespective of what others are doing. To begin an influence sphere from my immediate environment of those who value their nation and are pumping with patriotism. To work had to be  among the best in my field, to make my nation proud in the community of nations. Work with children to build an ideology that respects the rights of others, love, hardwork, rule of law, value system that will cause transformation - give them something to stand for; so that other things just come to sweep them off their feet. walking against the tide is always difficult, but it is better I die trying than not making any effort at all. My fate , which I have chosen is to become a nation builder, starting with my immediate environment - community.
Moreover,I give a clarion call of encouragement to every believer to rise up and join to make this nation better. An avalanche of reasons abound not to,  but let us fan the embers of hope, love and peace. I may not be able to feel your individual pains, but collectively we can make for collective gains. let us look beyond party, religious and ethnic lines and fight the battle to maintain sanity and progress together. The best way to fight a culture, is to bring a superior culture.... hence I encourage you to fight corruption with honesty, fight violence with peace, fight illiteracy with efforts towards literacy. Nigeria is our own and not my own, but when we look at it from the we ,you will see you. We can do this together, we can change the course already in motion....things will be well.
yes, we are all in this together! You are not alone in this fight. Do not get discouraged. I am a Nigerian, not ashamed to be called one and will make every effort to ensure that my passport gets every respect it deserves. I am Opeyemi,A nation builder with a heart to cause change;we can do this together.
